DEPARTMENT OF CHILD HEALTH NURSING:

The Department of Child Health Nursing at Mayurakshi College focuses on preparing students to provide specialized care to infants, children, and adolescents. Students gain knowledge and skills in paediatric nursing, promoting child health and supporting families in optimizing children's well-being.

Through theoretical instruction and hands-on clinical experiences, students develop expertise in assessing growth and development, delivering age-appropriate interventions, and addressing paediatric patients' unique healthcare needs. A family-centered approach is emphasized, recognizing families' crucial role in children's health. Collaboration with families, support, and education are taught to enhance overall health outcomes.

Students learn about various paediatric health issues, including illnesses, immunizations, milestones, and nutrition. Medication administration, paediatric assessments, emergency management, and care provision in diverse settings are also covered.

Promoting health and disease prevention in children is a key focus. Students learn health promotion strategies, risk factor identification, and implementing interventions for optimal paediatric health.

Evidence-based practice is emphasized, enabling students to incorporate the latest research into nursing care.

Upon graduation, students are prepared to deliver compassionate, family-centered care to children. They work within multidisciplinary teams, advocate for children's health, and contribute to their overall well-being.

The Department of Child Health Nursing aims to develop competent and compassionate paediatric nurses who promote child health, prevent diseases, and ensure children's optimal development and well-being.
